A Regional event is a gathering that welcomes chapters from various regions and parts of the world. Each region hosts this event annually before AGM, organising educational and motivational sessions featuring speakers, workshops, and social activities.
In the African region, there are only two chapters: the University of Johannesburg (UJ) Chapter and the Durban University of Technology (DUT) Chapter. Both alternate the hosting responsibility and this year, it was the UJ Chapters turn to host the regional event from April 12th to 14th. All active members from both the UJ and DUT chapters were invited. The event included a series of talks by professionals in the field, workshops aimed at educating and inspiring students, and additional social gatherings providing opportunities for students to interact with peers from other universities.
