The WCCS European Regional Event 2025 took place from Friday, March 21st to Sunday, March 23rd in Zurich, bringing together chiropractic students and professionals from across Europe. Participants from institutions such as IFEC Paris, IFEC Toulouse, (University of Southern Denmark (SDU), Scotland College of Chiropractic (SCC), Health Sciences University (HSU, former AECC), University of Zurich (UZH), and alumni from Life University came together for an inspiring weekend filled with insightful lectures, practical workshops, and numerous opportunities for networking and cultural exchange. The event served as a vibrant platform to strengthen international collaboration and to share knowledge across different chiropractic programs.
The weekend kicked off on Friday with a welcome breakfast, followed by the official opening of the event, hosted by the two organizers, Rebecca Reiche and Sara Fröhlich. The morning was dedicated to scientific lectures by distinguished speakers. Prof. Dr. med. Petra Schweinhardt opened with a talk on central sensitization in head and neck pain, followed by Prof. Dr. med. Mazda Farshad, who presented key clinical insights on treating patients with spinal disorders. The final morning lecture was given by Dr. Mette Siegenthaler, DC, who offered an engaging overview of common cases in pediatric chiropractic practice. After a networking lunch, participants were introduced to Dr. Lindsay Gorell, DC, PhD, showcasing her current research on how chiropractic students adapt their adjusting techniques to different patient cases using a mannequin model. The academic program was followed by a campus tour of the University of Zurich, including an exclusive visit to the anatomical collection and the dissection rooms—an unforgettable experience for many. To round off the day, attendees visited the Lindt Chocolate Factory, where they not only learned about Swiss chocolate production but were also treated to complimentary chocolate balls. The evening concluded with a communal dinner in one of the university’s towers, offering a beautiful panoramic view of Zurich and the chance to deepen connections in a relaxed setting.

Saturday began with another hearty breakfast, leading into a full day of interactive and hands-on learning. The morning featured presentations by Dr. Mike Heller, DC, who introduced low-level light therapy and its applications, followed by Dr. Lindsay Gorell, who gave a captivating lecture on vertebral artery dissection. Dr. Erman H. In the afternoon, Dr. Florian Loser and Dr. Karen Gaard led a practical workshop on Gonstead pelvic analysis and adjusting. Simultaneously, M Med Chiro Viviane Deschler and Astrid Kurmann hosted a session focused on real patient cases, followed by a short guided tour through the student clinic. During breaks, students enthusiastically shared chiropractic techniques learned in their respective countries, creating a dynamic atmosphere of exchange and curiosity. Later that day, attendees had time to explore Zurich at their leisure before gathering once more for a group dinner by the Lake of Zurich—offering the perfect mix of education, culture, and relaxation.
The final day, Sunday, continued the momentum with two practical workshops. Dr. Roy Bösiger, DC, demonstrated functional muscle testing, while Dr. Claude Supersaxo, DC, introduced participants to the Thompson Drop Technique. The event wrapped up with the official closing ceremony, accompanied by a pizza lunch, marking the end of a truly successful and enriching weekend.
