Cleveland University-Kansas City (CUKC) was founded in 1922 by Palmer graduates Dr. Carl S. Cleveland Sr., Dr. Ruth R. Cleveland, and Dr. Perl B. Griffin. The college began with three students and graduated its first Doctor of Chiropractic in 1924. In 1951, Dr. Tullius Ratledge’s Los Angeles college merged with Cleveland’s, becoming Cleveland Chiropractic College of Los Angeles, which consolidated with the Kansas City campus in 2011. Now led by Dr. Carl S. Cleveland III, CUKC continues to honor its pioneering vision.
