The Durban University of Technology was the first chiropractic school in Africa and had its first intake in 1989. DUT has been part of the WCCS since 2011, keeping membership always consistent and having had a number of its chapter members serve as regional coordinators and on the WCCS board of directors over the years. DUT also hosts bi-annually an African Regional Event, as it takes turns with the University of Johannesburg. DUT students are passionate about community service and try to assist and service the needs of the community around them. The chapter always gets involved in all initiatives including World Spine Day, ACT4SDG’s week and many others. The Chapter has grown from strength to strength through the years and members are cognisant of building for the students that are to follow.
