Since welcoming its first students in 1966, the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) has grown rapidly. With five faculties and over 27,000 students, including 20% international, SDU ranks among world’s top fifty fifty young universities and is recognized for conducting high-caliber research according to several international assessments. In 1994, SDU introduced a bachelor’s degree in chiropractic, now part of a fully state-funded five-year program leading to a master’s degree in clinical biomechanics. The program includes diagnostics, disorders of the extremities, interdisciplinary management, exercise theory, applied research, and a five-month hospital internship at a specialized hospital for back pain patients, supporting the interprofessional work between MDs, DCs and PTs. Graduates must complete a one-year postgraduate course for full authorization to practice in Denmark.
